CONTINUING the FOOD AWARENESS vibe. Farmed Salmon is having a devastating effect on the Wild Salmon industry. Norway's major Salmon farm businesses are setting up their dangerous operations in Scotland, Canada B.C. and Chile.
Global outbreaks of parasites and disease caused by the methods of open-sea farmed salmon are decimating sea life industries, fisherman's livelihoods and the wild Salmon & wild trout itself. 5 kilos of healthy wild fish feeds produce 1 kilo of farmed salmon. INSANE! Yet again big business dollars creates its own economy with disregard for those carrying on a traditional way of sustainability. In the USA 2/3 of the salmon consumed is farm raised. How dumb are Americans in their eating habits?
Take action folks. Do not purchase Salmon that is farmed. SurMat, with the Norwegian Government as its largest shareholder and Marine Harvest are the largest players in this industry. Do not purchase their goods. THEN you will IMPACT CHANGE.
